The Center for English Language Learners (CELL) is located in the Humanities Building, room H-237 and offers the following services for *all* Queensborough students who do not speak English as their first language:
- In person tutoring in reading, writing, grammar, mechanics, and CUNY test preparation
- Access to a website especially designed to address various language-related difficulties that students encounter in their academic work
The CELL also offers the following services for tutors and faculty members:
- Access to a website designed to help educators work most effectively with English Language Learners
- Tutor-training sessions for tutors working in a variety of academic disciplines that address issues related to tutoring English Language Learners
- Twice-yearly workshops for Queensborough faculty regarding effective teaching practices to employ with English Language Learners
The CELL will be for *all* Queensborough students who are non-native speakers of English, not just those enrolled in Basic Skills classes. |
