AM Drive Executive Producer

Description: This position will support the Morning show with collecting, analyzing and presenting on–air information about newsworthy events. The candidate will also be responsible for working with on air team to book relevant artists/talent. Job Description: • Assist in developing content, writing material for scripts, bulletins and links. • Works with AM Morning show and Program Director to incorporate broadcast content, commercial and monetization opportunities into show formats and scripts. • Sourcing potential contributors and interviewees- Builds relationships with key players in the market (Mayor, Police Chief, etc.) • Producing pre-production briefings for presenters, reporters, technical staff and other contributors; • Managing the logistics of getting people, resources and equipment together to the right placeat the right time. • Undertaking editing, interviewing and reporting duties as necessary; • Presenting programs or managing presenters for both pre-recorded and recorded output; • Checking that copyrights are cleared and understanding media law; • Attends daily morning show planning meetings • Attends monthly long range planning meetings • Creates a Daily One Sheets (top stories of the day) • Local expert… bring phoners and topics daily pertaining to local news • Reads the local papers and watches local TV news • Makes studio camera ready, and responsible for the show to “look” good at appearances • Responding to audience feedback, referring on to other departments as necessary; • Ensuring that union requirements are met. • Other duties as needed

Special Skills & Requirements Candidates should have the following: • Three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in broadcasting industry. Must be knowledgeable in local community and national events. • Communication skills and interpersonal interaction skills should be excellent, also to suit different audience and scenarios. • Excellent knowledge of radio market and styles. • Ability to generate ideas that are original and make effective news story. • Excellent relationships with industry /talent reps to secure talent for interviews. • Ability to maintain effective terms and communication internally as well as externally
