Educational Monitor and Receptionist

Description: • Hours: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.; Monday – Thursday and some Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will only accept candidates who can come every day. • Start Date: September 9, 2017. • End Date: June 2017. We require candidates who can work until the end of the school year. • Pay: $11+/hour, commensurate with experience and demonstrated abilities. Eligible for Work Study. (Contact your financial aid department.) • Where: Legal Outreach is located at 36-14 35th Street in Long Island City, Queens. You can take the N/Q to 36th Ave. or the E/M/R to 36th St. (12 – 15 min from midtown Manhattan).

About the Company: Legal Outreach prepares urban youth from underserved communities in New York City to compete at high academic levels by using intensive legal and educational programs as tools for fostering vision, developing skills, enhancing confidence, and facilitating the pursuit of higher education. We use law to attract junior high school students to academic programs that inspire and motivate them to strive for academic success. From the 8th through 12th grades, students work after school, on weekends, and during summers to build the skills and confidence they need to achieve their goals. Once in college, students who wish to pursue law school are eligible to participate in our College to Law School Pipeline Diversity Program. Legal Outreach has been transforming the lives of students from underserved communities for almost 30 years.
