Database/Administrative Assistant Intern

Description: • This 10 week nonpaid internship beginning September 18th to December 1st 2017 is for a Database/Administrative Assistant Intern. • The intern will gain exposure to various functions within Administration, and support ongoing special projects; specifically focusing on identifying and implementing processes and system improvements within the Career Direct Program. • Review current systems and software and provide feedback (advantages, disadvantages, and benefits) on automating processes. • Problem definition, research, data collection, analysis to determine best processes and methods for problem-solving. • Maintain student files, generate status information, and accurately transfer information to Career Direct’s in-house database. • Continually look for ways to improve the programs database platform. • Assist with creation of new reports or other methods of analysis. • Create, input, format and update a variety of projects and reports. • Regular and clear communication with manager, internal and, external team members on status of assigned project(s). • Present project information at the culmination of the internship to communicate research, findings, analysis and any recommendations. • Maintaining confidentiality of all student information. • Performing administrative duties as assigned.

Special Skills & Requirements • Must possess strong knowledge of business software applications (MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint). • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. • Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent teamwork and team building skills. • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision. • Full-time student in good standing actively pursuing a degree in a Business related field required. • Must be registered in one of the following: BU600 Internship, Business Elective or Free Elective (2-3) credits. • Must be able to commit a minimum of 12 hours a week during internship tenure.
