Professor Raul Armendariz will discuss his cosmic ray undergraduate research program at QCC.

Cosmic rays are high energy particles that come from outer space. At QCC students have built a cosmic ray detector and are recording particles as they pass through the science building. The project involves students from QCC, Suffolk County Community College, three high schools, and research at Brookhaven National Lab. This is the first in our series which will highlight physics research being done at QCC and the greater New York area. It is a great opportunity to learn about current topics in physics, meet the professors conducting research, and learn about opportunities to participate in research. Please bring your lunch! We will supply coffee, tea and snacks.
