Student Government Association Presents: In Celebration of Women's History Month You Are Invited to Attend a Performance of "They Call Me Q" with Quarrat Ann Kadwani "They Call Me Q" is a story of a girl from Bombay, India, growing up in the Boogie Down Bronx who gracefully seeks balance between cultural pressure and wanting acceptance into the American Culture. Along the journey, Quarrat Ann Kadwani transforms into 13 characters that have shaped her life, including her parents, Caucasian teachers, Puerto Rican classmates, Indian and African-American friends. Laden with heart and abundant humor, "They Call Me Q" speaks to the universal search for identity experienced by immigrants of all nationalities. Following the performance, food and refreshments will be served. Donations of feminine hygiene products will be collected at the door and go to the Jamaica Armory Shelter for Women.
