Description:

David Mills has spent the last year generating a series of poems about New York's African Burial Ground--the oldest and largest burial ground in the United States located in Lower Manhattan. Using persona, western and experimental forms, Mr. Mills combines lyric and fact to give poetic life to a little known history of New York's and the northeast's participation in slavery.
