Description:

Come join us as we celebrate Constitution Day! Constitution Day is observed each year on September 17 to commemorate the signing of the Constitution on September 17, 1787, and “recognize all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, have become citizens.” To celebrate this important day we are screening Steven Spielberg’s highly acclaimed film, The Post. Set in 1971, The Post depicts the true story of attempts by journalists at The Washington Post to publish the Pentagon Papers, classified documents regarding the 30-year involvement of the United States government in the Vietnam War. There will be a discussion with a panel of U.S. History professors from Queensborough afterward.
