An NIH-funded program to encourage underrepresented community college students who wish to further their education and pursue careers in biomedical sciences

Salary: |
Underrepresented students will receive $2400 for participation |

Room and Board: |
Students will have an option to live on or off campus. Students who live on campus will be responsible for their room and board costs. There are several dining facilities on campus |
An opportunity to spend 5 weeks at Stony Brook University in a biotechnology laboratory learning molecular biology techniques and performing a mentored research project

Other Activities Award Ceremony & Poster Session: An award ceremony is held with family and guests invited. Each research team will produce a 3' x 4' poster which will be displayed at the poster session. Each student will take home their own poster.
Lab Meetings & Presentations: Students attend weekly lab meetings to discuss newly learned lab techniques and to present results from their ongoing research.
Students can present their posters at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students
