
About the Artist : Marlene Tseng Yu
Born in 1937 in Hua-Lian, Taiwan, Marlene Tseng Yu
received her BFA from the National Normal Taiwan
University in 1960. She came to the U.S. in 1963, and
earned an MFA from the University of Colorado in 1967.
She has been curator of the new art movement, Forces of
Nature, since 1995, and is also founder and curator of the
Rain Forest Art Foundation, a non-profit organization
with a mission of saving the rainforest, saving the world.
Marlene Tseng Yu has been extensively published and
has exhibited in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. Since 1964,
she has had 52 solo exhibitions, worth mentioning: Musée
d’ Art et d’ Histoire, Neuchâtel, Switzerland; Taipei
Fine Arts Museum, Taipei, Taiwan; Taiwan Museum of
Art, Taichung, Taiwan; CU Art Museum, University of
Colorado, Boulder, USA; Technopolis-Gazi, City
Cultural Center, Athens, Greece; Las Vegas Art
Museum, Las Vegas, USA; Southern Nevada Museum
of Fine Art, etc. She lives and works in Soho, New York
