Daniel Armstrong is the head coach for the Queensborough Community Tigers men’s and Women’s swim team. Daniel is a former Queensborough Community College swimmer and is honored to return as the coach. In his time as a swimmer he was a regional and national qualifier in breaststroke and freestyle and went on to become the scholar athlete of the year at Queensborough. He states the swim team is where he learned how practice, hard work, commitment and dedication could translate into success and he hopes to instill those values to his team members. Daniel just finished his first season coaching where the men’s and women’s team accumulated more points than any other community college in the CUNY championship swim meet. Then at the regional meet his men’s team won the NJCAA swimming and diving region 3/ Northeast District George Stietz most improved team award. Daniel teaches full time at Queensborough, as well as being a licensed EMT and Physical Therapist. He has obtained his PhD from the CUNY Grad Center and his Master’s Degree from Brooklyn College in Sports Management.
