NOVEL CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) Allocating Ventilators CASE TITLE: Allocation of ventilators during COVID-19 by Nicole Kaczmarek and Lesley Guaraca, SCCC, Summer 2020 DESCRIPTION of the case by student: During the COVID-19 pandemic many people have been hospitalized and required the need of a ventilator. It has come to the world’s attention that there is a lack of ventilators all around the world. Due to the insufficient amount of ventilators healthcare professionals, patients, and families around the world must live with the consequences of withdrawing life support from one person for the benefit of another. There have also been questions as to who should receive such a scarce resource. url’s for the Articles Describing case: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/allocating-ventilators-during-covid-19-what-is-fair https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-07-states-guidelines-ventilator-shortage.html
