The Port of Entry Program was established in 1980 as an intensive language development program designed to provide international students and new immigrants with the language skills, knowledge and experience necessary to succeed in higher education and professional careers in the United States.  Students actively particpate in the mastering of language skills and are taught by experienced faculty specializing in teaching English as a Second Language.

 
The program has provided English language instruction to many people from China.
 

The program hosts people from many lands.

The College has experienced much success in teaching English language and Ameerican culture.

The program consists of:

  • A total of 200 hours a semester offered three times each year, in fall, spring and summer
  • Day classes
  • Experienced language teachers
  • Academic, college admissions, immigration, career counseling, and cultural activities.
  • Different levels of instruction, including intensive TOEFL preparation
 
 
The Queens Civics Collaboration of CUNY, funded by New York State, provides English language courses with an emphasis on the history, government and culture of the United States.
