QPAC believes that it's never too early to jumpstart a child's imagination and teach kids that reading and live theater is about pleasure! The Children's Book Club and Performance Series, was created as a way to enhance in-school literary programs while providing cultural and artistic opportunities to elementary and middle school students for whom a lack of arts programming is evident. Additionally, our weekend programs allow for parents to enjoy live theater along-side the children in their lives! QPAC is committed to providing the community with the services and resources they deserve while continuing to make sure that more individuals, families and children discover the benefits from making the arts a central part of their lives.

Pop-Pop-Popcorn! is the latest fun-filled hour from The Paper Bag Players. The show is bursting with new numbers, and sprinkled with classic Paper Bag Player sketches sure to entertain and delight kids ages 3-8. Imagine this: the Sun chases the Moon out of a sleepy bedroom and the Players start their day with a cheerful song and dance. The fun continues with the title number, "Pop-Pop-Popcorn!" in which madcap drill sergeant Colonel Kernel orders his troops through the popping dance. Soon, the entire audience is invited to stand up, dance, sing and pop in order to become a jumbo-sized popcorn. Then, when two buddies go fishing in "Day on the Lake," what could possibly go wrong? They row their boat onto a peaceful lake, but catch much more than they bargained for. Finally, the hour is wrapped up with a fast-paced and colorful group painting made not with brushes but handprints. The Players dance as they paint, transforming a wild, wet landscape into a beautiful rainbow.
Performed by The Paper Bag Players: Ted Brackett, Kevin Richard Woodall, Kathy D. Harrison, Kate Clark, and John Stone. Composed by John Stone. Directed by Ted Brackett.
