TigerMail accounts are ready for all students registered for the current semester. The email addresses are all of the form firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: Electronic mail is not appropriate for transmitting sensitive or confidential information.
All email accounts have a limit of 200 MB. A warning email will be sent when an account reaches 190 MB. Accounts which have reached the limit of 200MB will not be able to send or receive email.
Your Username is the first initial of your first name plus your full last name plus the last two digits of your Student ID.
For example if your name is John Doe and your Student ID is 123-45-6789 your username will be JDOE89
Please note: If your name has an apostrophe or a hyphen it has been removed.
When you first logon, you will be prompted to create a new personal Tigermail password which will be good for the entire semester.
If you have Windows (any version):
Open your browser, go to https://tigermail.qcc.cuny.edu and type your login information as follows:
- Use this option when you are in a public area or shared computer. The system will log you off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
- Use this option if you are the only person using this computer or you are at your home machine. This option will keep you logged on to the system for up to 24 hours.
- Use this option if you have a slow internet connection. This option will provide less or poorer graphic response and less ability to utilize the features of your browser. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you have the option of selecting Outlook Web Access Light. If you use any other internet browser (e.g., Google, Firefox, etc.), this option becomes a non-changeable default.
Note: the instructions depend on the manufacturer of the phone rather than the carrier, such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mobil.
The instructions also presume that you will have a cellular connection. You cannot get your TigerMail if you have only a wireless connection. Therefore if your phone is set to locate a wireless connection, change the setting to off. Please note that if you are asked to log-in to the QCC network by entering your email ID, your phone is set to locate a wireless connection and this function should be turned to off.
You can create a new password if you forgot your old password. Click on the "Create Personal Tigermail Password" link on the Tigermail log-in page.
If you receive the following message, "Contact Tigermail helpdesk (718) 631-6348, if you continue to experience problems changing your password", you have tried to use a password already stored in the system. The Tiger mail system saves your last 6 passwords so you will have to try a new password in this case.
Many students have requested the option to forward their TigerMail account to a personal email account. We are pleased to provide the instructions on how to do so, together with the following Queensborough Community College policy for student email communications to faculty and administrative offices:
STUDENTS SHOULD CONTINUE TO USE THEIR TIGERMAIL ACCOUNTS TO CONTACT THEIR PROFESSORS AND ALL COLLEGE OFFICES. Using your TigerMail address to email the College will identify you as a QCC student.
Please note that you have the option to delete the messages from your TigerMail account after the messages have been forwarded to your personal account.
