GRADUATE STUDENT POSTERS COMMITTEE




An event for Graduate Students to present their research was held as part of MARM 2005 at Rutgers University, Piscataway Campus, on May 24,
2005 as  part of MARM 2005, May 23 to 25.

MARM 2005 was Sponsored by North Jersey Section of the ACS and The Department of Chenmistry at Rutgers University.  The Graduate Student Poster Session was  co-sponsored by the New York Section of the ACS and the North Jersey Section of the ACS.  The NY Section contributed $ 2,000 in matching funds to the general funds for MARM 2005.

Fifteen graduate students participated in the 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM Poster Session.  There were several other poster sessions simultaneously and at least seven other graduate students participated in other poster sessions but were unknown to us at the time due to confusion in the registration process and as a result were not considered for the prizes.  Lunch was presented and the prizes for best overall posters were presented at the end of the days activities.  The prize winners received checks for $ 250.00 and will receive gratis invitations to the 2006 Nichols Symposium and Dinner in March 2006.   The winners of the prizes, their Universities and the  titles of their research presentations are:

An afternoon session of presentations by three young industrial chemists added to the days festivities.  Activities for graduate students were presented on other days, also (see attached).

The NYU sponsored funding is from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Fund in a grant to the New York section of the ACS.
