Activities for this Committee consist primarily of e-mail exchanges regarding interest for a position by job-seeking candidates and the availability of jobs in industry and/or academe.  Requests for job seekers have been received in late summer, primarily for the pharmaceutical industry, but no candidates have sumitted requests  since early fall.   By contrast, several job openings became available between October-December but there were no job candidates available to refer to these prospective employers.   One request said they were recruiting for 3 job openings for a company on Princeton, NJ; another request was for looking for a technical account manager for the NY/Upper NJ area for a start up in California; a third indicated that they were recruiters for placing chemists for a networkof sales consultants of Easton.   In general, I would refer candidates to whatever request have come in including recruiters but recruiters would not post in our ACS NY website.

At our next Jan meeting, I would like to explore how companies can best advertise on our website and how payment would be made ( similar to the way ads were placed in the Indicator).
