Department Awards

SUN AWARD: Presented to a legally documented, full-time matriculated student in Mathematics or Computer Science, with 3.3+ GPA, at least 12 credits in math, and a B+ or better in MA-441 and MA-442. Include a letter of recommendation from math faculty member and short statement describing student’s future educational career goals.
EASTHAM AWARD: Presented to an outstanding student in an upper level course, usually to a graduating senior in the calculus sequence.
FARBER AWARD: Presented to a female student, with an outstanding performance in any credit-bearing course.
KEATING AWARD: Presented to an outstanding student who advanced to higher level courses starting from remedial mathematics.
SIDNEY ARAK AWARD: Presented to a graduating student of foreign birth who achieves excellence in Mathematics and Computer Science and has completed, at a minimum, the calculus sequence.
ANTHONY BEHR AWARD: Presented to a student who started with remedial mathematics and excelled in higher level courses.
ANTHONY NESPOLE: Presented to an outstanding student who shows excellence in community service and peer tutoring.
BURT KLEINMAN AWARD: Presented to an outstanding student who shows achievement as a participant in extracurricular mathematics activities.
