A PHOTO IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS……

We want to help you gain as much coverage and promotion as possible for your events and projects. One way to do so? Scheduling one of our student photographers to take photos of activities on campus.

YOU CAN HELP US by contacting Barbara Bricker IN ADVANCE of an event and submitting the Photo Request Form (pdf) to us, either by email, in-person or by fax (718-281-5033).

Also, be sure to obtain signed release (pdf) from those to be photographed.

Now, some pointers:

TIME!

Please schedule our student photographers at the exact time you need them. For example, if your main speaker will speak at a certain time, tell us! It is very difficult for us to provide a photographer for any extended period of time.

LESS IS MORE!

Limit the group photo to no more than four people. Pick the people who are most important to the purpose of this event.

WHO’S ON FIRST?

Make sure that the photographer knows who is being photographed from “left to right.” Many times, we lose an opportunity for press coverage because we are waiting for you to identify those photographed.

THINK ABOUT YOURSELF!

What makes a good photo? Look at the event and consider what YOU would enjoy reading about, or seeing. Often the photo is what people respond to…..not the press release!
