How do I get a computer or an upgrade to my computer?
Requests for new computer equipment in excess of a department’s budget, including office software applications and accessories, should be sent to IT from the Department Chairperson/Director. IT will prepare a quote. If a department budget cannot support the new equipment, IT may have some used equipment available.
How do I get connected to the college network?
Most of the rooms and offices on campus are connected to the LAN. If you need connectivity have your Department Chairperson send a request to IT in writing or via e-mail to the IT Director.
How do I get a network account (Login ID)?
A request should be sent from your Department Chairperson/Director in writing requesting a network account, E- mail. Access to the sims system is controlled by the office of the Registrar.
How do I get an E-mail account?
Partime Employees and Full Time Faculty/Staff – Request should be sent to the Director of Information Technology by your Department Chairperson/Director.
Students – Student accounts are automatically created for all registered students. See Student E-mail for further information
How do I reset a password?
Faculty/Staff should call IT at x6273 or stop by A-303, after proper verification, a technician will reset your password and ensure you are able to logon.
Student passwords may be reset or changed through the Tiger Mail Website or you may call the Tiger Mail Hot Line at 718 631-6348.
How do I gain access to a computer account after a lost or forgotten password?
Call IT at x6273 with the following information:
- The type of account with the problem (E-mail, network login, CUNYVM, FTP..)
- Why you need it reset (forgot password, haven't used it for a while and it was deactivated..)
- Your location and telephone number
Please be prepared to prove that you are the owner of the account! For your protection, IT will NOT reset an account unless we are satisfied that the true owner is making the request.
How do I get help creating a website for my course or department?
