Global Citizenship Alliance - Study Abroad Program in Salzburg, Austria

FREE ONE-WEEK STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM DURING
SPRING RECESS IN SALZBURG, AUSTRIA

Global Citizenship Alliance provides students with an intensive international experience, exploring issues of global concern from different perspectives. This seminar is open to all full-time QCC students who have demonstrated academic success and leadership regardless of their financial need. 

Queensborough Community College gives full scholarships to selected students. To be eligible all applicants must:

  • be a current, full-time matriculated student with a minimum of 12 credits or 9 credits with over 12 clinical/lab hours and a continuing QCC student for the spring semester. 

  • have a current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher with a minimum of 12 completed QCC credits. 

  • submit two references from any of your past or current QCC professors.  Each recommender must complete a Global Citizenship Alliance Confidential Reference Form, place it in a sealed envelope, and sign the back.  Students should then pick up their sealed recommendations and submit them together with their completed applications.

  • submit an essay (one page, single-spaced, Times New Roman 12-point font) explaining how participation in Global Citizenship Alliance will advance personal, educational, and/or career goals.

  • provide a photocopy of a valid U.S. passport for U.S. citizens; valid foreign passport with permanent resident card for green card holders; valid foreign passport, I-20, and F1 visa for F1 visa international students; or foreign passport and visa for other non-immigrant students. All passports must be valid at least six months after the date of return as recommended by the U.S. Department of State. Any student who has a pending application with USCIS for Adjustment of Status is ineligible. 

  • show leadership skills, volunteer, and/or paid work experience on or off campus.  Students must submit a resume listing all leadership activities and achievements and attach any supporting recommendations.

  • submit a completed application together with sealed reference forms, essay, transcript, degree audit, evidence of leadership, and immigration documents.
