The Campus Learning Center is intended to help students overcome difficulties in their studies and give them support for academic success by providing individual tutoring in most academic subjects. The Learning Center keeps a roster of tutors in Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian and Spanish who are hired on the recommendation of the department.
The Tutoring Coordinator for the Humanities is Dr. Aranzazu Borrachero. The Campus Learning Center Coordinator is Bonnie Cook, whose Office Assistant is Natacha Barret. It is open during the following hours:

Tutoring is done by appointment or on a limited walk-in basis. Dr. Borrachero (H223A) is the tutor coordinator responsible for the Humanities (Art, Music and Foreign Languages)
Students in need of tutoring
- Fill out an Application for Tutoring (available in H214 and/or in the Learning Center (LC))
- Have your instructor initial the form and write items to be reviewed
- Go to the Learning Center, talk to the administrative assistant and schedule a suitable date/time
- After the session tutors fill out Tutoring Log with a summary of the tutoring activity and send it to your instructor.
Candidates for a tutoring position
1. QCC Students:
a. Fill out Tutor Employment Application Form (H214 and LC)
b. Bring current copy of transcript (Sims)
2. Non QCC Students:
a. Fill out Tutor Employment Application Form (H214 and LC)
b. Attach a resume with transcripts
Dr. Borrachero reviews the applications and, with the help of the departmental chair, and foreign language coordinators, determines the proficiency levels of the candidates. B. Cook will complete the hiring and scheduling process.
