[Lorena
B. Ellis, Ph.D., originally from Estrela, (RS, Brazil) attended
Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in Brazil where she received a B. A.
Degree in Portuguese, German and English Literatures. She attended
graduate school at New York University (NYU), where she received an
M. A. and a Ph. D. in German Literature. Since 1994 Lorena B. Ellis
has taught German language at Deutsches Haus at New York University,
Brothers College at Drew University, and Queensborough Community
College at CUNY. Since 2000 she also has been teaching beginners
Spanish. She has presented papers at regional, national, and
international conferences on various topics related to German
language and literature. As a CUNY faculty member and an officer of
the AATG NY Metropolitan Chapter she has co-organized regional
workshops for faculty development. She has published articles in
refereed journals and a book: Brecht's Reception in Brazil, Peter
Lang, Spring 1995. In 2004 she obtained a second M.A. of Arts in
Spanish and Portuguese with concentration in Latin America.
