College Discovery

What is COLLEGE DISCOVERY?

COLLEGE DISCOVERY is an educational opportunity program that provides counseling, academic support services, and, in certain cases, financial aid to students who would otherwise be unable to attend college because of economic circumstances.

Who is Eligible?
To be eligible for the College Discovery opportunity program at Queensborough Community College, you must:

  • be a legal resident of New York City for at least one year prior to your first registration at Queensborough
  • be economically disadvantaged (documented through disclosure of family resources and assets)
  • hold a high school diploma or the equivalent (GED or General Equivalency Diploma)
  • be accepted into a degree program at Queensborough Community College

How to Apply?

You may apply for enrollment in the College Discovery Program through The City University of New York Freshman Application, questions 29 through 32. You will then receive financial aid forms that must be completed before you can be accepted in the program. After all forms and documentation have been received and evaluated, you will be informed of the admission decision.
