|Overview:||String and repair telephone and television cable, including fiber optics and other equipment for transmitting messages or television programming.|

|Job Outlook:||Employment of telecommunication installers and repairers is expected to stay the same through 2018. Any job growth will result from new inventions for Internet, TV, and video on demand that need new networks built. Gains will be offset by a decline in the need for maintenance for newer, more reliable equipment.|
|Education Level:||Training for this occupation generally requires a High School Degree, plus additional coursework in a vocational or technical school. In some cases, employers may require an Associate Degree.|
