|Overview:||Install, maintain, test, and repair communication cables and equipment.|

|Job Outlook:||Employment of communication equipment mechanics will show little or no change through 2018. Although building new networks to supply the demand for new technology by consumers will create jobs, they will be offset by a decline in maintenance work as new equipment is more reliable.|
|Education Level:||Training for this occupation generally requires a High School Degree, plus additional coursework in a vocational or technical school. In some cases, employers may require an Associate Degree.|
