Overview: Issue licenses or permits to qualified applicants. Obtain necessary information; record data; advise applicants on requirements; collect fees; and issue licenses. May conduct oral, written, visual, or performance testing.

Job Outlook: Employment of license clerks will increase as fast as average through 2018. Growth is limited due to increased use of office automation as well as consumers accessing services directly online.
Education Level: The typical training required for this career is generally a High School Degree or GED Certificate.
