Physical Therapist Aides

Overview: Under close supervision of a physical therapist or physical therapy assistant, perform only delegated, selected, or routine tasks in specific situations. These duties include preparing the patient and the treatment area.

A.S. Liberal Arts and Sciences (Mathematics and Science) 
Job Outlook: Employment of physical therapist aides is expected to grow faster than average through 2018 due to the growth in the elderly population. Physical therapists are expected to increasingly use assistants and aides to reduce the cost of physical therapy services. Job opportunities should be particularly good in acute hospital, skilled nursing, and orthopedic settings and in rural areas.
