Mechanical Drafter

Overview: Prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.
Duties:
Degree(s): A.A.S. Electronic Engineering Technology 
Job Outlook: Employment of mechanical drafters is expected to grow slower than average through 2018 due to declining manufacturing industries. However, increasingly complex design problems associated with new products and manufacturing processes will increase the demand for mechanical drafters employed in engineering and drafting services firms that will be charged with finding solutions.
Education Level: Training for this occupation generally requires an Associate Degree from a 2 year or community college.
