|Overview:||Entertainment and sports business managers negotiate contracts and handle the financial affairs of entertainers and professional athletes. They advise their clients' on financial investments, salaries and taxes. They negotiate their clients' advertising endorsements and appearances.|
|Duties:||They manage the income and financial resources of clients who are entertainers or professional athletes. They advise clients about business opportunities in which they should invest their monies.
They negotiate the contracts for their clients for the use of their talents as a performer, i.e., with professional team owners for athletes, or movie producers for actors and musicians.
They arrange for supplement income for their clients by means of participating in TV and radio commercials, in printed advertisements and by appearing at special events.
They recommend to their clients methods to enhance their career development, earnings potential and popularity with fans such as participating in charity drives or supporting popular causes.

|Education Level:||Training for this occupation generally requires an Associate Degree from a 2 year or community college.|
|Additional Training/Education:||Business managers, also called Entertainment and Sports Agents, generally have a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or law. Courses in financial investment, accounting, tax law, business law and contracts, computer applications and communications are essential.|
