Employee Training Instructor
|Overview:||They develop course materials & train employees in job skills and decision making skills needed to enhance their job performance and career development within an organization. They select and develop teaching aids. Assess trainees to determine their skill level and their training needs.|
|Duties:||They confer with an organization's human resource management experts to determine the kinds of skills enhancement courses are needed to enhance the skills of the organization's workforce.
They define training objectives for courses to be taught and the course modules that enable trainees to achieve these objectives. They decide which employees should be enrolled in each course.
They conduct trainining sessions and test the trainees' level of mastery of the course content during and upon completion of the course.
Design and conduct follow-up studies to determine the extent to which each course helped employees in their job performance. May use performance records and opinion surveys to collect this data.

|Job Outlook:||Employment of employee training instructor is expected to grow faster than average through 2018 especially in training employees in using new technology. Organizations will need employee training to meet new regulations and to keep their skills up to date to support their mission.|
|Salary Range (National Average):||$32,000 to $36,000|
|Education Level:||Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college (some are 5 years) is required to be considered for this occupation.|
|Additional Training/Education:||Employee training instructors generally require a bachelor's degree and often a master's degree in either education or the field of specialization they plan to teach to employees. In addition, a program of study should include courses in human resource management, organizational psychology, labor law, statistics and computer applications.|
Understanding acquiring positions in this field may be enhanced through continuing academic study (i.e. earning a baccalaureate or a master's degree) and/or work experience in the field, Queensborough Community College has established transfer agreements with other institutions for students who wish to further pursue their educational goals.
