Employee Benefits Analyst
|Overview:||They plan, implement and administer benefits programs designed to to insure employees against loss of income because of illness, injury, layoff or retirement.|
|Duties:||Analyze company benefits, laws concerning mandatory insurance coverage and other organization agreements with unions so as to comply with laws & offer employees competitive benefits packages.
They design and prepare informational literature about the company benefits for distribution to the employees and applicants.
They perform statistical analyses of benefits to be sure all levels of employees are receiving fair benefits.
They calculate the cost of the benefits package to the organization and advise employees how much they are gaining in compensation as a result of the benefits package.

|Education Level:||Training for this occupation generally requires an Associate Degree from a 2 year or community college.|
|Additional Training/Education:||Employee benefits analysts generally require a bachelor's degree and often a master's degree in either human resource management, industrial relations, business or psychology. Actually a mix of courses from all these study areas is desirable. Additional courses in computer applications and statistics are becoming increasingly important.|
