Advertising Sales Promotion Manager
|Overview:||Advertising sales promotion administrators plan and coordinate research and marketing strategies to increase customer awareness, acceptance and sales of products and services. They design advertising campaigns and product information to be communicated to customers.|
|Duties:||They decide how to increase consumer awareness and sales of their company's products and services. They select and work with advertising agencies to implement advertising strategies.
They meet with product development managers during the early stages of development of new products to identify product features that should be stressed in advertising campaigns.
They decide what kind of market research studies to conduct to measure how well products and services meet customer needs. They plan test marketing experiments with targeted customer groups.Design sales orientation programs and materials to train their company's salespersons how to sell new products and services. Decide on sales promotion incentives to attract new customers.

|Job Outlook:||Employment of sales promotors is expected to grow as fast as average through 2018. Job growth will be spurred by competition for a growing number of goods and services, both foreign and domestic, and the need to make one’s product or service stand out in the crowd.|
|Starting Salary:||Many earn bonuses equal to 10% or more of their salaries that can yield higher than average salaries for top performers.|
|Salary Range (National Average):||$35,000 to $40,000|
|Education Level:||Training for this occupation generally requires an Associate Degree from a 2 year or community college.|
|Additional Training/Education:||A bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration on advertising and communications is the ideal preparation for this field. Courses in advertising, marketing, statistics, consumer behavior, communications and visual arts are essential. Most employers prefer to hire new graduates in assistant positions in market planning in preparation for sales promotion administration jobs. College graduates with creativity, experience and excellent communication skills will have the best opportunities.|
