Student Admissions Administrator
|Overview:||Student admissions administrators set the standards for deciding upon the quality of students to be accepted in a college of university. They set student transfer policies and must decide upon rules for accepting racial minority group members and assuring appropriate mix of students.|
|Duties:||They direct and coordinate policies to decide upon the criteria to be used for accepting new students to the college or university or accepting students who wish to transfer from other colleges.
They evaluate courses offered by other colleges and universities to determine their equivalence to courses offered on campus. They analyze their admission requirements.
Design programs for recruitment of new student applications from high schools & other schools. Conduct workshops for potential applicants to explain college goals, majors and campus life.
They statistically evaluate the level of achievement of present student body on campus to determine what kinds of changes might be needed in admissions policies.

|Job Outlook:||Employment of student admissions administrators is expected to grow as fast as average through 2018. More students will seek admission to postsecondary institutions including traditional colleges and universities as well as online and non-traditional schools.|
|Salary Range (National Average):||$30,000 to $38,000|
|Education Level:||Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college (some are 5 years) is required to be considered for this occupation.|
|Additional Training/Education:||The most common training requirement for this administrative position in a major college or university is a master's, Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in higher education administration. However, a bachelor's degree will qualify you for a staff job in admissions, student affairs, financial aid and the registrar's office. Educational administration degree programs include courses in school management, school law, finance, curriculum development, research design, community relations and counseling.|
