Description: Perform initial examination, diagnostic & other ophthalmic testing procedures such as ultrasonography, perimetery, etc. using a variety of ophthalmic instrumentation. You will also maintain & calibrate equipment & supplies, & assist professional staff with examinations & minor surgical procedures. -Perform initial examination of all patients including assessing visual acuity, obtaining medical/opthalmic history, measuring optical power, retinoscopy & refraction -Perform diagnostic & other phtjalmic testing procedures on patients, such as ultrasonography, perimetery, visual function (VER, ERG, EOG & dark adaptonmetry), biometry, tronometry & tonography. May also be trained in other instrumentation. -Schedules patient appointment testing. Maintains records & appropriate statistical data. -Maintains & calibrates equipment & supplies in clean & orderly condition. -Assists professional staff with examinations & minor surgery including administration of diagnostic eye drops & ointments, instructing patients on Physicians orders, etc.
