Department of Biological Sciences & Geology
ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE (A.S.) DEGREE SUGGESTED SEQUENCE FOR STUDENTS PLANNING TO CONTINUE STUDY IN MEDICAL, DENTAL, VETERINARY PROGRAMS, or PHYSICAL THERAPY
Students planning to enter a preprofessional program in any of the above areas should complete a minimum of (a) one year of biology, (b) one year of chemistry, and (c) one year of mathematics as part of their A.S. degree requirements. Advanced courses leading to a Bachelor of Science degree beyond the A.S. degree level will be completed at a senior college. Application to a medical, dental, or veterinary school will be made under the advisement of the senior institution.
Prospective Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental, Pre-Physical Therapy, or Pre- Veterinarian majors may choose to concentrate their science and mathematics courses in a particular department. Students are urged to consult the Department of Biological Sciences and Geology or the Department of Chemistry as soon as possible to be assigned a faculty adviser.
