Artist Bio Charles Bentz Was born in Brooklyn, New York and has been drawing ever since he was able to hold a pencil in his hand. He knew he would be an artist at a very early age. He attended The School of Art & Design and studied at Pratt and The Art Student’s League in New York City. He was an illustrator in the advertising business for many years and is a member of the Society of Illustrators. He enjoys traveling and taking photographs of the splendor that is the world. He returns to his studio and recaptures those moments on canvas. His paintings are reflective of some of his many loves -- boats, landscapes, still life, the island of Nantucket and the Southwest. His work has a quality that is reminiscent of a quieter, simpler time of life and aims to transport the viewer there.
