Important Note: The Queensborough workshop series welcomes all CUNY faculty (adjuncts included) with the understanding that if there are more requests than seats, the policy will be that Queensborough faculty will have priority.

Microsoft Office 2007 (ACC)

Description:   During this workshop you will be introduced to the NEW Microsoft Office 2007 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Who should attend:
Anyone interested in experiencing the new Office 2007 interface.

When: Friday, September 28, 10am-1pm

Podcasting (ACC & CETL)

Description: A term that is a melding of "iPod" and "broadcast," Podcasting is a way to create audio (and more recently video) programs to which you or your students can listen while sitting at a computer, or on the go with an iPod or other portable player. During this workshop you will learn how to choose and subscribe to Podcasts, and you will create your own Podcast using Camtasia.

Who should attend:
Anyone wishing to use Podcasting as a teaching tool, or those who simply want to learn more about this burgeoning technology.

Digital Photography (ACC)

Description:   GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR DIGITAL CAMERA - Covered are digital photography basics, camera features, how to choose and buy a digital camera, techniques and best practices of digital photography.

Who should attend: Anyone interested in digital photography

Windows SharePoint Services (ACC)

Description:  During this workshop both faculty and staff will explore the features of the latest Microsoft SharePoint Services including its Team Meeting, document sharing, Blog & Wiki capabilities. Currently being used for the ERP and Middle States Self-Study projects, you will find this environment especially useful for collaboration including group writing and committee work.

Who should attend: Faculty and Staff members who wish to learn about this dynamic collaboration environment.

Multimedia and the Web: Preparing Digital Photos, Audio & Video for use in Blackboard and Podcasts (ACC)

Description: Proper preparation of various media is essential for successful deployment in technology enhanced teaching environments. In t his workshop you will learn how to scan, size, edit, and convert photos, slides, documents and recordings for use on Web sites and Podcasts. Bring your media files with you if you wish.

Who should attend:  
Anyone who is involved with digitizing materials for posting to Web / Blackboard sites; Anyone who wishes to create their own enhanced Podcasts.

When: Friday November 9, 10am–1pm

Wikis & Blogs in the Blackboard Environment (ACC & CETL)

Description: – Learn to use the new tools recently added to Blackboard. These tools provide access to Wikis, Blogs , and groups activities within your Blackboard courses.

Who should attend: Faculty members who wish to investigate the use of these tools in their courses.

Contribute (ACC)

Description: This is an introductory workshop. Learn to use Macromedia Contribute to build and maintain your own Web site. Participants may have the Contribute program installed on their office computer after attending this workshop.

Who should attend:
 Faculty members who wish to build and maintain their own Web sites.
