Eligibility
- One time opportunity which began in July or August, 2007 (depending on remedial needs).
- 228 students were officially enrolled at QCC for the fall 2007 semester
- Must be a New York City Resident –high school graduate or GED certification
- Students have 0-12 college credits, with a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Were triple exempt from Math, Writing, and Reading, based on Regents, SAT scores, or CUNY ACT placement exams, OR needed only one remedial course which was passed during summer 2007
The Benefits of the A.S.A.P. Program
- All books are supplied free, on loan, with or without Financial Aid assistance
- Free monthly MetroCards supplied during the academic year
- If eligible for Federal or State Financial Aid (any amount), the difference is met by ASAP
- If not eligible for Financial Aid, student is responsible for tuition & fees (about $3200 per year)
- Full time students are taking approximately 12 credits per semester, in blocked programs in one of the following curricula: Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Music Electronic Technology
- Condensed schedules (morning or afternoon) are available, depending on the major
- Additional weekly support time on campus – tutoring, cultural events, mentoring and more
- Groups of 25-30 students working together throughout the program – to graduate in 3-4 years
- Field trips, special events, teamwork building
- Assistance with finding part-time employment while in ASAP and job placement or transfer assistance upon graduation
