April 1st ASAP Reception
On April 1st, Chancellor Matthew Goldstein; and Executive Vice Chancellor and University Provost Selma Botman presented the first CUNY ASAP reception. The celebration was to honor the students, faculty, and entire staff of ASAP on their first year in the program, and was held at Hunter College at the Brookdale Rotunda.
The day was filled with music and dancing, eating and meeting, motivational speeches, and inspiring words of wisdom. We heard from ASAP Director Fran Gottfried, Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, Linda Gibbs; and Chancellor, Matthew Goldstein. They spoke about what a unique and special program ASAP really is, and how valuable each member involved with ASAP is to the success and continuation of the program. They also touched on how important the students are to the program, and how they are the true predictors of the future of ASAP.
The afternoon finished with coffee and cake, and with a dance off between the different schools. I say QCC won! QCC had the largest contingent of ASAP students attending the reception. All in all, the day was a great success, as everyone had a great time.
