Standard Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
Full time students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are Black, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native or Native Pacific Islander are eligible for LSAMP research assistantships.
Students are invited to apply based on academic performance. How to Apply.
Pre-Collegiate Research Assistantship Program:
- High school seniors admitted to a CUNY college
- 80% Average & Total of 4 CPI Units in STEM courses
- $1000/summer for 6 weeks, 25 hours per week
- $1000/academic year ($500 per semester)
Undergraduate Research Assistantship Program:
Community College earned at least 12 credits, including at least one credit-bearing course leading to a STEM major and completed with B or better minimum G.P.A. of 2.8
- Freshmen (12-36 credits) - $1,000/academic year
- Sophomores (>36 credits) - $2,000/academic year
Senior College majoring in a STEM discipline, with B average or better in STEM courses minimum GPA of 3.0
- Lower Juniors (62-72 credits) - $3,000/academic year
- Upper Juniors (73-100 credits) - $4,000/academic year
- Seniors (>100 credits) - $5,000/academic year
